Week Thoughts: Texas Relays lives up to expectations
April 6, 2009 by Jay Hicks
What a weekend of collegiate and professional running. David Oliver put up 13.19 at the Florida Relays in the 110 meter hurdles, which is the fastest time run in the world this year. Damu Cherry followed up running 12.69 in the 100 meter hurdles, also a world’s leading time.
The most notable change is the reduced participation of professional athletes at the Texas Relays. Primarily athletes that live and train in the region ran in open events and as a part of relays.
