-Editor’s Note
We have been hard at work updating and improving PreRaceJitters.com since the relaunch into an online magazine. We will continue with the same general format, look and feel of the site, while adding in more features and interviews.
In addition to professional athlete interviews, PreRaceJitters.com will be bringing you profiles of elite athletes of all ages to be added to the existing site.
This site primarily focuses on elite and professional athletes, however an editorial decision was made to feature nine-year-old Lauren Williams, an rising youth star. Editor Herb Jones profiles a track and field family, committed to supporting a youth athlete with tons of potential and excitement for the sport.
Williams symbolizes the hope and change that is possible in elite track and field. Youth athletes are the life blood of track and field in the United States and building a grass roots movement around the Lauren Williams of track is paramount.
And in all fairness, track and field is incredibly popular with youths, and opportunity for growth is maintaining and engaging high school athletes with track and field.
For personal reasons, it elates me to see Herb turn out such a fine piece of journalism, as we met nearly a year ago, dreaming of the presenting such profiles on PreRaceJitters.com. We are extremely proud to introduce the first of many features and appreciate your support of the site.
