The biggest bomb shell dropped today was the news from Jeremy Wariner that he has reunited with longtime coach Clyde Hart.
The two split last year after a contract dispute in January of 2009 that saw Wariner become coached by Baylor sprint coach Michael Ford.
“My focus last year was to win the Olympic,” said Wariner. Things happened for a reason last year. This year I have been able to refocus my efforts. I have been thinking about getting back with coach Hart for a little bit.”
“I felt like we got a little bit away from my speed endurance training,” said Wariner. It was a difficult decision but I am back with coach Hart. Coach Ford is a wonderful coach. I made the decision to move back with coach Hart because it was a natural fit and because of his experience.”
On this year Wariner said, “I have moved past last year and have not let last season bother me as much as others would imagine.”
Today running 44.66, Wariner looked as comfortable and confident in a way that has not been present for quite some time and may be the signal of return to the Jeremy Wariner that fans are grown accustomed to seeing.
He came off the turn like a freight train. LaShawn Merritt cruised to 200 meter victory despite not feeling up to par physically. “Before the race my calf was cramping a little bit, said Merritt. “I didn’t get out as hard because of it. It was a little sluggish. I was just going to build into it. I came off the curve and had the strength to hold.”

The going up and down from the 200 and 400 is little more than normal. Is there a rivalry in between Sanya Richards and Allyson Felix? The both are polite denying such a relationships exists, so you will have to decide for yourself if you think they are going that hard at one another.
Allyson Felix running her signature 200 meters ran 22.66 to come away with a victory in a field including Richards (23.03). Felix has plans to run more 400 meters this season, so look forward to more back and forth performances. “I’m just pleased to get out there and have a good performance. I had hoped it would be a little faster than it was. I always try to run home strong.”
In the NBA playoffs the team with home court advantage wins an overwhelming majority of time. Carmelita Jeter won the 100 meters today in 11.09, against an impressive fielding on the campus of Cal State Dominguez Hills where she ran during her collegiate careers. The field included: Muna Lee (11.22), Stephanie Durst (11.22), Marshevet Hooker (11.32), Torri Edwards (11.40) and Lauryn Williams (11.41). Jeter’s win is more than merely home field advantage and is officially in the lists of athletes to watch in the women’s 100 meters due in part to training with new coach John Smith and a new found confidence.
Having misplaced the eight hurdle in the 400 meter hurdles, makes that races the most bizaree occurrence of the day. None the less, Kerron Clement pulled out 48.38 to win over Angelo Taylor (48.70) and Felix Sanchez (48.95). “I’m really happy to come out and compete against the top guys like Angelo (Taylor) and James Carter, said Clement I just stayed focused on myself and came up with the win.
The time stands however the marks are not recognized in the world list as the time would have been the fastest time in the world.
two-time World Outdoor champion Dwight Phillips the men’s long jump in 8.37m/27-5.5. Jenn Stuczynski did not jump into the competition until the other jumpers had exited. She cleared 4.76 meters/15 feet 7.25 inches on her first attempt before moving the bar to an American record height of 4.93m/16-2. Stuczynski had three good runs at the bar but failed to clear all three attempts.
