About PreRaceJitters.com
PreRaceJitters.com is an online track and field lifestyle magazine reporting the best of track and field at the professional, amateur, collegiate and high school levels.
Content includes coverage of major events, interviews with track and field athletes and innovators, and commentary on the sport, its controversies and its place in popular sports culture. In the summer of 2008, PreRaceJitters became an affiliate website of Universal Sports (formerly WCSN), a joint venture between NBC Sports and InterMedia Partner.
PreRaceJitters.com was launched in November 2007 to fill what its founder, Jay Hicks, saw as a shortage of track and field coverage that was relevant to both athletes and fans while standing up to traditional journalistic standards. The result is a site that is inclusive of the many personalities, trends and events that make track and field a dynamic and growing sport.
Jay Hicks grew up in track and field, eventually running the 800-meters for Baylor University. The former all-conference SWC runner is publisher and Editor-in-Chief of PreRaceJitters.com and frequent contributor to other sport-oriented blogs and magazines.
